Melted cheese, sweet jam and flaky pastry? Count us in. This crescent ring is as yummy as it looks. The fruity jam complements the gooey and buttery Brie while the walnuts add some much needed crunch. A sprinkle of brown sugar on top adds that last sweet bite that makes this ring incredibly moreish. It’s the perfect party dessert. Just slice the crescent up and serve—no fuss! It’s the best dessert-grilled-cheese you’ll ever have.

BAKED BRIE CRESCENT RING

Yields: 8 Servings

Cook Time: 35 mins

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 tin crescent dough
  • 2 8-ounce Brie wheels
  • 1 small jar of jam
  • 1⁄2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease one large baking sheet.
  2. Cut Brie into 1⁄2 inch slices.
  3. Place a small bowl upside-down in the middle of the baking sheet. Unroll the tin of crescent strips and arrange the dough triangles in a ring around the bowl. The short sides of the triangles should meet and overlap.
  4. Place the Brie slices around the bowl, allowing them to overlap each other.
  5. Spoon the jam over the Brie and sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the filling.
  6. Carefully remove the bowl from the centre. Lift each triangle over the filling and tuck the end into the centre of the ring. Repeat with each triangle until a ring is formed.
  7. Brush the top with one egg yolk, and heavily sprinkle the top with sugar. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Slice and serve warm.
