4 Prosecco Cocktails to Try at Home

4 Prosecco Cocktails to Try at Home

National Prosecco Day fell on August 13 this year and mixologist Declan Khan of Flair Tech Bar services couldn’t resist poppin’ a bottle (or two!), testing recipes for you to embrace life’s everyday celebrations. They’re all delicious and simple enough that anyone could make them at home.

Sparkling Berry Sangria

Quench your thirst with those warm brunch parties or midday fetes chilling on the lawn or dancing in the courtyard with some great music. This simple combination exudes high grape varieties as the “Very Superior Old Pale” cognac enhances the crispness of this prosecco blend accompanied by sweet notes of strawberry liquor and fresh berries.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle prosecco (rose, preferably)
  • 4 ounces brandy/cognac
  • 2 ounces strawberry liqueur
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Add brandy and strawberry liqueur to a medium-sized pitcher.
  2. Gradually pour in granulated sugar while stirring lightly.
  3. Once dissolved, add ice to fill vessel and lightly pour in prosecco.
  4. Time to Serve!
  5. When ready to serve add slices of lemon, berries of choice & kiwi slices, stir lightly and top off with additional prosecco.
  6. Pour into wine-bulbs, champagne-flutes or punch/mason type glasses.

Tennessee Peach Bellini

This is mega refreshing since the peach cocktail plays so perfectly with the heightened notes of premium honey and orange liqueurs, further awaking those orchard notes of fine prosecco. It’s a true Tennessee cocktail with a tingly Italian twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle prosecco (rose, preferably)
  • 4 ounces brandy/cognac
  • 2 ounces strawberry liqueur
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Rim stemless bulb with fine brown sugar.
  2. Using a blender, combine all ingredients with ice and process until smooth.
  3. Pour and garnish with two peach slices — one for each glass

Garden Bouquet & Bubbles

Inspired by the “London Smash”, this rich cocktail is evenly balanced with light prosecco to put any drinker in the trance of an evening in a botanical garden with prominent taste profiles of gin botanicals, black currant, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, organic honey and the earthiness of fresh basil.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce gin
  • 3/4 ounce blackcurrants liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce wild berry puree
  • 1/2 ounce honey
  • 3 basil leaves
  • 1 bottle prosecco

Directions

  1. Combine first five ingredients with ice.
  2. Shake with medium vigour, add prosecco and pour into a low-ball glass.
  3. Garnish with 3 blackberries speared and a whole basil leaf.
  4. Top with additional prosecco, as needed.

Brazilian Bellini Spritz

This cocktail earns an A+ for refreshment as it’s perfect for any cocktail party or dining experience. This Brazilian twist combines premium melon and sugar cane liqueurs and apple notes combined with flavourful prosecco to leave a clean lingering finish to the palate.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce melon liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce Cachaça
  • 1 ounce apple juice
  • 1 bottle prosecco

Directions

  1. Cut a cucumber lengthwise to show the seed-filled center on both sides.
  2. Place slice in stemless flute and set in chiller.
  3. Pour the first three ingredients over ice in a large pitcher and lightly stir.
  4. Pour chilled mix into a chilled champagne flute and top off with prosecco.
  5. Garnish with fanned granny apple slices on the rim.
